readers that it is okay to
grieve their loss and that God
has a plan of restoration for
them.

“It is important to know these
things so [readers] will not
allow the enemy an open door
so he can try to shipwreck
their life,” says Angela Curtis.

Manhood Planning

Planning is an essential part of any effective process; unfortunately too many men start
and finish the manhood process without a plan.

In the early 1990’s, Brian Curtis  founded the first program in his middle school to
address issues facing African American male special education students (Aspiring Young
Men). In the mid 1990’s, Brian was one of the first mentors with a mentoring program
designed to assist elementary age African American males (Passing the Torch Program).

Brian Curtis, Educational/Manhood Planner, has programs established to assist in the
betterment of  young African American males. These services range from keynote
addresses, presentations, workshops and individual planning and educating services.

Brian is committed to helping those who want to improve their lives and the lives of
others. Brian specializes in assisting adolescent African American males plan, prepare
and persevere to become role models and good examples of positive, productive
African American men.

Group and Individual Plans Provided by Brian:

Individual Educational Planning
Adolescent African American males struggle significantly when compared to other
students in school. Educational planning is provided to assist students with the
examination, evaluation and modification of current academic status. In addition to this
educational audit, client’s strengths and preferences are explored for the purpose of
developing a comprehensive academic and personal life’s work plan. As your
educational planner, I will work with you to evaluate your strengths and gifts and provide
an individual success plan (ISP) and scorecard. Your personalized evaluation will be
aligned with your personalize academic and social plan in preparation for your God given
purpose and destiny.

Individual Manhood Planning
Planning is an intrical part of most of what we do, ironically very little or no planning
occurs when it comes to preparing for something as critical and important as becoming a
man. This service affords clients the opportunity to explore the perceptions and images
of manhood and masculinity. Clients learn to recognize false images of manhood while
embracing God’s purpose and expectation of man. The client will ultimately develop a
written individual manhood plan (IMP) and scorecard for the kind of man he desires to
become and the method by which he will accomplish this goal.

Manhood Planning Workshops
This plan is designed to help young African American males develop a comprehensive
plan for navigating the manhood process. Participants in this workshop explore images
of masculinity and roles of men while ultimately formulating a positive and productive
model for the kind of men they want to become. Participants will follow a model
designed to help them create and organize their plan. This plan is designed to become a
roadmap for successfully navigating the manhood process.
